From April to December, The Goods Club pop-up store opened its doors at the intermediate use of the Triemli tram stop and wowed customers with an exciting selection of food products. The shop was more than just a shop: it was a place for sustainability, innovation and awareness-raising.
Before
Pop-UP at the Triemli tram stop
Zurich public transport entrusted Projekt Interim with the temporary use of a pop-up located at the Triemli tram stop in Zurich. In addition to the sales area, the temporary use offers storage space and sanitary facilities. The property can be rented on a weekly or monthly basis.
After
Experience THE GOODS CLUB
The pop-up store was an important test for The Goods Club concept. Not only did it test customer acceptance, but it also provided valuable lessons that helped develop the value proposition. This project lays the foundations for future projects.
In the coming months, The Goods Club will be exploring new avenues with corporate snack boxes and an online shop to further its mission of sustainable food solutions.
The results so far speak for themselves. Since opening, over 18,000 items of food that would otherwise have ended up in the bin have been saved. At the same time, the pop-up store has raised awareness of food waste and sustainability among many local people, inspiring them to adopt a more responsible attitude to food.
The pop-up store’s range was as varied as it was sustainable. It included products such as sauces, drinks, snacks, ready-to-use products and spices, and more recently organic vegetables from the region.
The food products had one thing in common: for various reasons, they could no longer be sold in the regular trade. These were often surplus orders from wholesalers, products with a short shelf life or items that had been eliminated due to changes in the range.
Every week there were new products to discover, as the range changed regularly. Prices were deliberately kept very low to enable everyone, whatever their income level, to make sustainable purchases while actively combating food waste.
